One of the world’s most challenging race tracks, the Spa Francorchamps has born witness to spectacular battles over the years: Ascari Vs. Farina, Senna Vs. Mansell, Schumacher Vs. Hill, Clark Vs. Hill, Hamilton Vs. Raikonnen. RSRSpa decided to add the new dimension to the typical track battle by pitting a skydiver against the Radical RXC Spyder piloted by company founder and the ex-racing driver Ron Simons. With 440 horsepower, the 860-kg Radical RXC Spyder has the incredible power-to-weight ratio of 558 hp/ton. A 3.0-liter V8 is mated to the seven-speed paddleshift gearbox, revs all the way to 10,400 rpm and will shift the open-top pocket rocket to 60 mph in 3 seconds, en route to the top speed of 178 mph. But is that enough to complete the lap of the 7-km circuit before the skydiver touches ground?
